What bright spark thought it would be remotely sensible to force cyclists to perform a tight swerve on a narrow tow-path, inches away from the edge of the canal.
Sign directs the Bridgewater Way onto the right hand fork - which leads to some steps #88334. It is far more sensible to keep to the newly tarmacked towpath.

Bridgewater Way (RCN 82) goes up these steps to merge with the Runcorn Loop Cycleway - and then follows a ramp back down to the canal. It is much more sensible to keep to the tow path.

Misleading Routes Sign. - The Bridgewater Way (RCN 82) turns off Marina Lane here to cross the canal in the direction the pedestrians are taking. The red sign behind the pedestrians implies no access - but this is intended for motors.
